The Harmony Family Centre is a health and wellbeing service for members of the Black and Minority Ethnic Community.

Core Aims and Objectives

Prevention: where possible, of members of our community accessing mental health or penal institution.
  • Misdiagnosis or inappropriate treatment for people with mental health support needs.
  • Challenging negative perception about race, ethnicity and mental health as it affects our Elders, families and young people.
  • Exclusion of our young people from educational institution.

Promotion: of culturally specific advice including advocacy, consultation, and training. We actively encourage the promoting of good mental health and well being.

  • Befriending to expand networks for service users and families and challenge isolation.
  • Consultation with service users, carers and faith communities.

Participation: through community engagement and involvement including the delivery of community education programmes.
