Services


The Harmony Family Centre delivers services which are non-stigmatising, therapeutic and culturally appropriate to people from black and minority ethnic communities with mental health support needs.

Harmony Provides the Following Services:
  • Individual, Group and Family Counselling sessions. We offer therapeutic services across a range of modalities including counselling, psychotherapy, Neuro-Linguisitic Programming (NLP) and Hypnotherapy. We are happy to accept self-referrals as well as those from GPs and Community Mental Health Teams.
  • Drop-In Support for our clients.
  • Employment & Training Support for those who have experienced some form of mental health crisis and who require some assistance in becoming 'ready' for work.
  • Community Outreach. Community Training, and awareness-raising events.
  • Parenting & Domestic Violence classes. Our classes are attended both by mothers, and.or fathers.
  • Advocacy and Befriending Support to our clients who may have experienced some form of mental health crisis.
  • A user-led Mental Health Forum.
  • Various Support Networks for Families with individuals with emotional and mental health needs.
  • Training for volunteers, and we offer placements for students on a variety of Social Work, Counselling and other psychological and therapeutic courses. (Please contact our Director for further details as there are limited places and these get filled very quickly).
  • Helpline support Mon-Wed 10 am - 4pm.  (This service is aimed at members of the general public who may be experiencing mental health distress, and require a rapid intervention)
  • Confidential advice and information by appointment, and sign-posting to appropriate agencies where necessary.
  • We offer in-school surgeries for children of primary and secondary school-age. We also deliver self-efficacy workshops for children who are at risk of exclusion; displaying challenging behaviour or who are at risk of low educational attainment levels.
